Cost
Each
match costs $55 per team to cover referee fees, court hire and
competition logistics. You’ll be asked to pay a $220 team bond
before the competition begins. This payment will cover your last 4
games, considering on the number of games you forfeit (refer to
Forfeit section). Teams pay for their match at the Front Reception
and hand the receipt to the person running the competition on the
day, before they take the court.
Forfeit
If
your team has to forfeit a match please call us as soon as
possible. If you call on the day of the game, your team will be
deducted $110 from your bond. This payment covers your normal
payment (court time and referee fees) as well as the payment of
your opposition. It is unfair for an opposing team to have to pay
for their match if they have nobody to play against. Your team will
only be deducted $55 from the bond if you call a day before the
match or earlier. Should your team not forfeit any games, your last
4 match fees are covered by the bond (so you won’t have to
pay).
Time
and Day of Matches
Matches
are played on Wednesday nights starting at 6:30pm and finishing at
10:45pm.
Divisions
There
are two divisions, division 1 and 2. Division 1 is a higher level
competition than division 2. Players must be 17 years of age or
older to play in either. Teams play a trial game in the beginning
of the competition to decide which division suits them best.
Division allocation is based on standard of play and not
necessarily on the final result. For example, if two teams exhibit
high level play and yet one team wins 5-2, both teams may still be
placed in division 1. Teams can also request which division they
prefer to play in and we will try and accommodate this; however,
for fair competition for everyone, we will still need to see teams
play. Division 1 and 2 play simultaneously as we have two courts
available for Futsal on Wednesday nights.
Amount
of Teams
This
number depends on the amount of teams which register. In the last
competition we had 14 teams for each division.
Rules
If
you are unsure about any rules please visit The
Fifa Futsal Laws Of The Game. Our
referees can also happily answer any questions you have about the
rules before and during the match. Should your team have a
complaint about referring, we ask that you email Lisandro Berbis on
whitlambookings@belgravialeisure.com.au.
He
will endeavour to find out what the problem was and help to fix it.
We simply ask that you do not take it out on the referees or staff
during or straight after the match as it sets us back which means
other teams begin their game late.
Semi
Finals and Grand Final
Teams
who finish in the top 4 will playoff for a place in the grand
final. First plays against fourth, while second battle it out
against third. The winners of each game meet in the grand final.
Teams who finish between fifth and eight will also have a playoff
to determine where they finish for the season. It is a good chance
to get back at some teams and allows for extra games. Please note
that, teams who finish in the 5th-8th bracket
are unable to make it to the grand final. Teams who finish further
than eighth, will not be involved in any playoffs.
