LEARN TO SWIM TERMS & CONDITIONS
To ensure that every participant receives the maximum benefit from the programs and services at the Centre, please take the time to read through the following Learn to Swim Terms & Conditions, relevant to the Belgravia Leisure Swim program held at The Whitlam Leisure Centre.
General Conditions
All participants must abide by general terms and conditions of The Whitlam Leisure Centre. Management reserves the right to refuse entry, suspend or cancel a membership without refund, or request any person to leave the premises if that person does not behave in a responsible manner, uses abusive language, is under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol or does not adhere to the general conditions of entry. Every effort will be made to adhere to the timetable but Belgravia Leisure reserves the right to change and alter classes as necessary.
Payment of Fees
All fees must be paid in full at time of booking. Direct Debit members must complete all the required forms before commencing lessons. Learn To Swim (LTS) Memberships may be cancelled at any time once the minimum 16 week instalment is completed. With Direct Debit LTS memberships a $20.00 once off set up administration fee is payable for the 1st child. There is a 7-day cooling off period from the time of enrolment. Upfront payment members need to secure their booking with payment prior to commencing lessons.
Multiple Child Discounts
If a family has more than 2 children participating in swim lessons at any one time a 10% discount applies to the fees of the 3rd, 4th and 5th children.
Certificates and Progress
Certificates of participation and achievement will be issued by the LTS instructor upon completion of a level. Students will progress through the levels of the program as they attain the skills and confidence. The rate at which each student progresses will be assessed on an individual basis.
Reception and Access
All LTS members must swipe or present their card at reception every time they attend the centre. If the participant misplaces their card, it is advised that the Centre be notified immediately. A replacement fee of $5.00 will be charged for the replacement card. LTS members are to advise of any changes in address or phone numbers. LTS members are to understand that the facilities are available to the general public and not exclusively to the members.
Missed Lessons
To minimise disruption, the Swim School generally does not offer make up lessons. In the event of a missed lesson a medical certificate will need to be supplied and you will be given a Family Swim pass for you to enter the pool free of charge on your next non- lesson visit. This pass is valid for one month only. The Centre must be notified prior to your lesson to advise us that you will not be attending, to receive a Family Swim pass. Other alternatives are available at the discretion of the Swim School Coordinator. PRIVATE LESSONS need to give at least 24 hours’ notice for another lesson to be arranged. Family Swim practise passes or Make Up lessons are available for family holidays. Notification is required prior to the family holiday. There is a maximum of 2 Passes or Make Up lessons per 16 week instalment.
Cancellations
Notification is required in writing (form must be completed). Where an upfront payment member chooses not to complete any part of the entire program, no refund or credit will be given for any unused portion of the purchase unless a medical certificate can be supplied. Refund will be calculated from the date the Swim School is notified. Refunds will incur a $25 cancellation fee.
Assessments
Assessments are ongoing as children develop at their own pace. Please speak with the Swim School
Coordinator at the time of the lesson regarding any queries or feedback required.
Supervision
Parents are not permitted to leave children under the age of 10 unaccompanied at any time while they are in the Centre, including during a Learn to Swim class. Children must be accompanied by a guardian 16 years or over at all times.
