Conditions of Entry at Whitlam Leisure Centre

To ensure a pleasant and secure environment for all our members and guests, please take a moment to review our venue conditions of entry.

Our Venue

  1. Whitlam Leisure Centre is a non-smoking venue.
  2. Patrons enter the Centre and use its facilities at their own risk. To the full extent permitted by law, the Centre does not accept liability for any injury or death to any person whilst in the Centre
  3. Please observe pool rules and directions of Lifeguards at all times, this includes showering before using the pools. 
  4. Anyone attempting to gain entry without paying or without authorisation will be prosecuted. No pass outs will be issued.
  5. Patrons are not permitted to bring glass objects or alcohol into the Centre. Patrons bags may be searched. 
  6. Abusive, disruptive or offensive behaviour and language are not permitted. Offenders will be removed from the Centre.
  7. Children under the age of 16 years are not allowed entry unless under the supervision of a parent or guardian 18 years or older.
  8. Children aged 5 years and under need to be supervised within arm’s reach in the pools at all times.
  9. Children aged 6 to 14 years need to be actively supervised by a parent or guardian at all times. Parents or guardians of these children cannot access or utilise other areas of the Centre.
  10. Articles of clothing such as street-wear, underwear, denim, bike pants and casual wear are strictly prohibited. Only recognised swimwear made from lycra and nylon are to be worn in the water. 
  11. Diving is not permitted in water less than 1.8m in depth.
  12. Only recognised waterproof aqua-nappies are to be worn in the water for infants.
  13. Access to the Spa and Sauna is only permitted for those 18 years and older and with a Centre-issued wristband.
  14. Access to the gym is only permitted for those 16 years and older unless under supervision from Centre staff.
  15. Whitlam Leisure Centre caters for all food and beverage requirements. No commercial food will be permitted.
  16. No pets or animals permitted into the Centre unless certified assistance animals.
  17. Whitlam Leisure Centre are only permitted to conduct learn to swim, private swimming lessons and squad coaching sessions unless approved by Management.
  18. Cameras and mobile phones are not to be used for photos or videos unless authorized by Management.
  19. Whitlam Leisure Centre accepts no responsibility for lost or stolen belongings. Patrons are advised not to bring valuables into the Centre.
  20. Please advise Centre staff of any medical conditions or health concerns.
  21. Please be respectful to staff and other patrons at all times.
  22. Management reserves the right to refuse entry. Refusal to comply with these conditions of entry may result in removal from the Centre.

Health Club

  1. You must be over 16 years old to use the gym on your own. Teens aged 12 – 15 years can access the gym during Teen Gym sessions or when accompanied by a supervising parent or guardian.
  2. Please wear suitable attire, closed shoes, and always carry a sweat towel and drink
    bottle. 
  3. Wet clothing is not allowed in the gym or group exercise areas.
  4. Please return weights and loose equipment to original position/storage after use.  
  5. Guests and members must use a towel on all equipment and wipe down after use. 
  6. For your safety and to enhance your workout experience, we strongly advise all gym users to:
    • Warm-Up: Engage in at least 5-10 minutes of light exercise or stretching before starting your workout. This helps to prepare your muscles and reduce the risk of injury.
    • Cool-Down: Spend 5-10 minutes cooling down and stretching after your workout. This aids in muscle recovery and helps prevent soreness. 
  7. Use of the Group Exercise rooms is only permitted during a scheduled class.
  8. Virtual workouts are available on demand in the designated areas. These are available on a first come, first serve basis. Please wait for the previous class to finish before starting your own class.
  9. No food or alcohol is to be consumed in the gym or group exercise spaces.



Spa and Sauna

  1. Children under 18 years of age are not permitted in the Spa area or Sauna at any time.
  2. The Spa and Sauna is a heated environment, and if you are concerned that it may adversely affect you, it is your responsibility to seek medical advice.
  3. Do not use the Spa or Sauna whilst under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
    Certain medications may produce adverse effects.
  4. Do not use the Spa or Sauna alone.
  5. Do not use the Spa or Sauna for more than 15 minutes.Please ensure you maintain your hydration at all times.
  6. You must have a Centre-issued wristband on at all times within the Spa & Sauna area.
  7. If you have a heart condition use at your own risk. We recommend you seek medical advice before entering.
  8. If you are pregnant use at your own risk. We recommend you seek medical advice before entering.
  9. Always have a shower before getting into the Spa or Sauna.
  10. Wear appropriate swimwear and sit on a towel at all times in the Sauna.
    Do not lay down.
  11. Never put your head underwater in the Spa.
  12. Do not use oils or personal hygiene products in the Sauna.
  13. Do not pour water on the heating elements in the Sauna.
  14. No spitting, shaving or exercising in the Spa or Sauna.
  15. Please follow the directions of Centre staff – if they ask to see your wristband or ask you to leave, please abide by these directions.
  16. Please be respectful to staff and other patrons.
  17. Diving is not permitted.

Aquatic Areas

  1. Lifeguards supervise our aquatic areas, however active parental supervision must be followed.
  2. In an emergency please follow lifeguard instructions.
  3. Children aged 5 years and under need to be supervised within arms reach from in the pools at all times.
  4. Children aged 6 to 14 years need to be actively supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.
  5. A maximum of 2 children under 5 years old or 4 children under 10 years old can be supervised by each parent/guardian over the age of 16 years.
  6. Suitable swimwear must be worn. Articles of clothing such as street-wear, underwear, denim, bike pants and casual wear are strictly prohibited in the water. Only recognised waterproof aqua-nappies are to be worn in the water for infants.
  7. Glass objects or alcohol are not permitted.
  8. Please adhere to the safety signage around the pool area.
  9. Access to the infrared sauna is only permitted for those 18 years and older.
  10. Cameras and mobile phones are not to be used for photos or videos unless authorised by Centre Management.
