Liverpool kids race into free sports programs at Whitlam Leisure Centre
Liverpool families, this is your chance to include your kids in sport, getting them active and healthy at no cost. 126 children are already enrolled in Better Active Living Liverpool (B.A.L.L) at Whitlam Leisure Centre: a free six-week sports program designed to boost confidence and fun. With 41 kids participating in Futsal, 30 in Pickleball and 55 in Gymnastics, the program is already making a big impact.
This initiative is part of our mission to get kids active, improving their access to fitness in partnership with South Western Sydney Local Health District and Liverpool City Council. The goal is to help children aged five to 13 in Liverpool and South Western Sydney discover new sports and build lifelong healthy habits.
What’s on this year
Whitlam Leisure Centre kicked off the sports program on October 27, offering free Gymnastics, Futsal and Pickleball sessions.
Tahnee Hart, Venue Managerat Whitlam Leisure Centre praised the initiative:
“It’s truly been a joy to see the B.A.L.L program in action. Kids have left with better moods and self-esteem; I love seeing them get involved and interested in sports they may not have tried otherwise.”
About the program

- Improved the health and well-being of tens of thousands of children, supporting them to reach and maintain a healthy weight.
- Helped boost children’s physical activity levels by an average of four hours a week.
- Reduced sedentary (screen) time by three hours a week.
- Empowered children to gain more self-confidence as their health improves.
